​​Kimberly Morton Powell was born and raised in Detroit Michigan to the parents of Bishop James H. Morton and Elder Denise Morton. Being born into a prominent family in not only Ministry, but in Gospel Music. Kim has been singing and working in Ministry all of her life.

In 1992, Kimberly relocated to Atlanta Georgia and her music career continued to expand. Her God given talents afforded her the privilege to sing live and studio background vocals for numerous artists, such as: Bishop Paul S. Morton, Kurt Carr, Minister Byron Cage, Ann Nesby, Kelly Price and Mary J. Blige to name a few. Kim has been blessed to act and sing in Stage plays and also, to do voice-over work.

Kimberly is a member of New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church in Decatur Georgia, pastored by Bishop James H. Morton. Since 1994, Kim is the Church Administrator and now Executive Assistant to Bishop James H. Morton. She faithfully works with her Church Music Ministry. Kim has accepted the more recent title of, Director of Music for the Young Adult Ministry at New Beginning F.G.B.C. and Assistant Minister of Music at New Beginning F.G.B.C.

Having travelled the world with the gift of her voice, Kimberly is now embarking on her own path as a Gospel/Christian music Artist. Her debut single "Holy" produced by Alverrick "Vision" Powell (written by Matt Gilman, Seth Yates and Mindy Dicken) is a testament of her passion for Praise and Worship. Her single "Just Praise" written by Kimberly Morton Powell released January 15, 2016 is an inspiring and uplifting Rhythm & Praise song that will stay on your heart and mind. Kimberly’s latest work released December 2021, entitled “My Kind Of Christmas” is Co-Produced by Kevin “griff” Griffin.
